Partial wind load in STAAD.Pro is applied through “Groups”. By default, STAAD.Pro considers structures as enclosed. STAAD.Pro will calculate wind load on the nearest face of the structure blocking the wind or the entire exposed area. To apply partial wind load, we will have to create “Groups” selecting the group of entities where the wind load will be applied.

The procedure of applying partial wind load

  • Create the group, selecting the group of entities where the wind load will be added.
  • Assign the wind load case to the group in the command file.
