Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran (MJP)
Rahimatpur, Maharashtra, India
Project
With a goal to transform Rahimatpur’s existing water distribution network to provide adequate water to the city’s rural villages 24×7 while reducing non-revenue water, Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran (MJP) needed a GIS-based hydraulic model with district-metered area sectorization to design the proposed water system and present it to the local Municipal Council. Given the Municipal Council’s inexperience in water management combined with three parallel workflows modeling, designing, and analyzing the water network, MJP required a collaborative, integrated approach to complete the INR 5 million project.
Solution
What challenges did you face on this project that led to your decision to invest in Bentley solutions and applications? Had you tried other software solutions before using Bentley applications? (If so, which ones and what was the result?) Describe in detail what they did to solve their challenges.
Outcome
Explain the ROI of the solutions that was put in place to solve the problems. Use metrics when possible, number of hours saved, how much $ saved, etc. 3. Describe what their expected outcomes were. What did they want to achieve on this project.
Software
Describe the Bentley solution used and go into detail about any specific capability. Link the product name to the Virtuosity product page.
Facts
- MJP used WaterGEMS as its GIS-based solution to transform Rahimatpur’s existing water supply system, designing a sustainable 24×7 water supply network to provide adequate water to existing residents while reducing non-revenue water.
- The interoperability of Bentley WaterGEMS enabled MJP to integrate with ArcGIS and AutoCAD models, enhancing collaboration and information mobility to optimize hydraulic output.
- Working in a common modeling environment using Bentley software reduced design errors, accelerating project delivery.
- The ability to simulate various pumping scenarios and optimize tank capacity improved energy consumption and reduced operational costs on this INR 5 million project.
“WaterGEMS helped us in various aspects while modeling, analyzing, and designing the water network.”
